| The purple clam, Amiantis purpurata, inhabits the warm-temperate waters of the southwestern Atlantic, from Espírito Santo (Brazil) to the San Matías Gulf (Argentina). There are no previous studies dealing with its biology and populations dynamics. Astock located in Playa Villarino (San Antonio Este, San Matías Gulf) supports the only artisanal fishery targeting this species. | This work characterizes the composition and dynamics of the incidental catch in the patagonian shrimp (Pleoticus muelleri) fishery, with special emphasis on the bycatch of common hake (Merlucius hubbsi). The Observer Program coordinated by the Chubut Province (Argentina) and used to monitor the fishery is evaluated. The factors that explain the variability of hake bycatch rates are analyzed, different statistical estimators are evaluated and possible strategies for controlling bycatch are discussed. The study is centered on the double-otter-trawl freezers, responsible for 75 percent of the Argentine shrimp landings. | The "abadejo" is one of the species that has been traditionally exploited in the Argentine Sea. Although the capture was not very important, it has been increased in the last years. In this work, the structure of the concentration areas of summer, spring and winter distribution and other biological items were analyzed, basing on the data collected during cruises effected by R/V "Walther Herwing" and R/V "Shinkai Maru" in these waters during 1978/79. | Se estudió la diversidad y distribución de la macro- y meiofauna y los rasgos funcionales de nemátodos marinos en dos sitios y cuatro hábitats dentro del ecosistema arrecifal de Punta Francés, Isla de La Juventud, Cuba. Los hábitats seleccionados fueron: seibadal, arena, coral muerto y fondo duro, y se muestrearon en dos sitios dentro del arrecife (Punta Francés y Cabezo de Moya) en Junio del 2010. | RESUME Il s'agit d'un travail d'analyse de l'évolution de la pluviométrie dans la RBDS de l'origine des stations jusqu'en 1997. La RBDS située dans le site d'estuaire du Saloum est affectée par une péjoration pluviométrique qui entraîne la disparition de certaines activités agricoles (rizculture et maraîchage) et la contamination des puits par le sel et le fluor. | Las playas arenosas son ambientes rigurosos donde los patrones comunitarios de macrofauna han sido relacionados con el tamaño de grano de arena, pendiente de la playa y procesos de ola/swash. | Los hábitos alimentarios del congrio de profundidad Bassanago albescens fueron estudiados por medio del análisis de los contenidos estomacales. Las muestras provinieron de campañas de investigación llevadas a cabo por el Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo Pesquero (INIDEP) durante el año 2009, en dos zonas de la Plataforma Continental Argentina (Norte: 36°S-41°S y Sur: 44°S-47°S). De los 222 estómagos analizados, 189 (83,78%) contenían alimento, identificándose un total de 34 ítems presa agrupados en 7 categorías. Los valores de %IRI indicaron que la principal categoría presa de la dieta fueron los cefalópodos, seguidos por isópodos y anfípodos.
